About Ironbridge Capital

Ironbridge Capital is a private equity firm that acquires and grows mid-market companies in East Africa, with a focus on manufacturing, healthcare, and agribusiness. Founded in 2011 and based in Nairobi, Ironbridge has raised two funds totalling USD 120 million and has made nine investments, five of which have been successfully exited. The firm takes majority or significant minority stakes and actively supports portfolio companies with operational improvements, governance strengthening, and expansion capital. Ironbridge Capital is regulated by the Capital Markets Authority as a collective investment scheme.

What you will do:

You will install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications equipment including fibre optic cables, routers, switches, and base stations. Daily tasks include conducting site surveys, pulling and splicing fibre optic cables, configuring network equipment, and testing signal quality. The role involves working at heights on telecom towers and in underground ducts, so physical fitness and a head for heights are essential. You will also prepare installation reports, maintain as-built drawings, and coordinate with the network operations centre to resolve service-affecting faults. Experience with fibre optic splicing, OTDR testing, and telecom power systems is required. The position involves travel to remote tower sites and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Applications should include an updated CV, copies of relevant certificates, and contact details of three professional referees. Ironbridge Capital offers a competitive remuneration package, medical cover, and opportunities for professional development. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
