About Highland Partners

Highland Partners is a horticulture export company that grows and exports roses, carnations, and summer flowers to auction houses and direct buyers in the Netherlands, UK, Germany, and the Middle East. The company operates four farms in Naivasha and Nakuru with a combined greenhouse area of eighty hectares. Founded in 2001, Highland Partners employs 2,200 staff and exports approximately 120 million stems annually. The company holds MPS-ABC, MPS-GAP, and Fairtrade certifications and operates a worker welfare programme that includes housing, medical care, and schooling for employees' children.

What you will do:

In this role you will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts, reconciling bank statements, processing invoices and payments, and supporting the annual audit process. Day-to-day work involves reviewing expense claims from various departments, following up on outstanding receivables, and ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately in the accounting system. You will also prepare cash flow projections and variance analysis reports for the finance manager. The position requires someone who can handle high volumes of transactional data while maintaining accuracy and meeting strict monthly reporting deadlines. You will work closely with the procurement team to verify purchase orders and with the HR team to process payroll-related entries. Experience with tax computations including PAYE, VAT, and withholding tax is essential because the company relies on this role to file statutory returns on time. Familiarity with accounting standards such as IFRS for SMEs will be an advantage, particularly when preparing financial statements for management review.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution
  • Minimum 1 year of working experience in a similar role
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 21 years or above

Applications should include an updated CV, copies of relevant certificates, and contact details of three professional referees. Highland Partners offers a competitive remuneration package, medical cover, and opportunities for professional development. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
