Introduction:
The Department of Anaesthesia at the Aga Khan University Hospital provides perioperative care and other operating room facilities for all surgical procedures, intensive care to critically ill surgical patients in the surgical intensive care unit, as well as acute and chronic pain management services. Our department has a mix of anesthesiologists, qualified nurses, and highly trained surgical and anesthesia technicians.

The CSSD department provides disinfection and sterilization services to all hospital areas that required these special services. Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
-
pack, seal, and label instruments’ packs and trays
-
monitor sterilization of dressings, linen, microsurgical instrument trays, and equipment as per the department policy and procedure
-
operate and monitor washing machines, dryers, sterilizers, or any other machinery used in the central sterile services department
-
assist & monitor routine quality control tests required for sterilization
-
monitor the stock level of detergents, disinfectants, glove powder, etc., and refill any when necessary
-
replenish the stock of consumables in the parking area from the bulk store when required
-
report any malfunctioning equipment/ instruments to the supervisor
-
dispatch appropriate formulae to the unit as per the requirement
-
assist Chargehand to manage workload and monitoring the performance of Health Care Assistants to teach them required skill(s)
-
any other task assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
You should have:
-
Matriculation; Intermediate would be preferred
-
diploma in CSSD or OT
-
atleast one year of relevant experience from a reputed healthcare organization
-
ability to organize work
-
ability to follow written and oral instructions
-
understanding of Sterilization & Disinfection Service practices and techniques.
