
Community Oral Health Officer (Karatina) at Stratostaff
The Community Oral Health Officer will be responsible for providing clinical dental services, patient education, and operational support within a busy outpatient dental clinic. The role focuses on delivering high quality oral healthcare, maintaining excellent patient experience, supporting clinic operations, and contributing to community oral health education initiatives.
The position requires a professional with strong clinical competence, attention to detail, empathy, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Responsibilities

Perform dental procedures within scope of practice including fillings, extractions, simple root canals, pain management, and emergency dental care.

Provide patient counselling on oral health care and post-procedure care.

Conduct oral health education and community outreach initiatives.

Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and clinical documentation in line with facility guidelines.

Exercise sound clinical judgement and refer complex cases to dentists where necessary.
Patient Experience and Service Excellence

Deliver a warm, professional, and reassuring experience for every patient.

Ensure patients are well informed, comfortable, and supported throughout treatment.

Address patient concerns and inquiries professionally and promptly.

Support initiatives aimed at improving patient satisfaction, retention, and overall patient experience.
Operational Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the treatment area in line with infection control standards.

Collaborate with team members to ensure proper sterilisation of instruments and adherence to safety protocols.

Support smooth patient flow in a high-volume clinic environment.

Work closely with the clinical team to ensure efficient daily clinic operations.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Diploma in Community Oral Health from a recognised institution.

Valid registration and licensing with the relevant regulatory body.

Minimum of five years’ experience in a busy dental clinic environment.

Experience working under qualified dentists and handling high patient volumes will be an added advantage.

Experience performing fillings, extractions, and simple root canals is required.
