Redwood Associates is an insurance brokerage and risk advisory firm that serves corporate and individual clients across Kenya. Established in 2003, Redwood is licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority and places business with all licensed insurers in the market. The firm handles property, motor, marine, liability, and employee benefits insurance and manages claims on behalf of clients. Redwood Associates employs forty-five staff and serves over 2,000 corporate accounts. The company is a member of the Association of Kenya Insurance Brokers and has been voted among the top five brokers in the country for three consecutive years.

What you will do:

You will manage and grow relationships with existing key accounts, ensuring that they receive excellent service and continue to do business with the company. Daily tasks include conducting regular account reviews, identifying upselling and cross-selling opportunities, resolving service issues, and coordinating with internal teams to deliver on client commitments. The role involves preparing account plans, tracking account performance metrics, and reporting to senior management. You will also represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings. Strong relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of the client's industry and business challenges, and the ability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously are essential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
  • Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
