Stonebridge Corp is a publishing and educational content company that produces textbooks, revision guides, and digital learning materials for the Kenyan school curriculum. Founded in 1996, Stonebridge is approved by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development as a publisher of educational materials and supplies books to over 8,000 schools across the country. The company employs 120 staff including editors, designers, and sales representatives, and also operates an e-learning platform that serves over 50,000 subscribed students. What you will do:

You will design, develop, test, and deploy web and mobile applications using modern frameworks and programming languages. Daily tasks include writing clean, well-documented code, participating in code reviews, debugging and fixing defects, and collaborating with UI/UX designers to implement responsive and user-friendly interfaces. You will work in an agile development environment, attending daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, and retrospectives. The role requires proficiency in at least two programming languages, experience with version control systems, and familiarity with database design and API development. You will also write unit tests and integration tests to ensure code quality and participate in deployment activities using CI/CD pipelines. The ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to changing project requirements is important.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
