Founded by two former Big Four auditors in 2012, the firm serves over three hundred SME clients across manufacturing, retail, and the non-profit sector. Services include statutory audits, tax planning, outsourced CFO support, and business process reviews. Summit Partners is registered with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya and is a member firm of the Pan-African Federation of Accountants. The team currently stands at sixty-five professionals, including eighteen certified public accountants.

What you will do:

You will supervise mining operations, ensuring that extraction activities are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with the approved mining plan. Daily responsibilities include inspecting the mine site, monitoring drilling and blasting operations, overseeing ore loading and transportation, and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety regulations. The role involves managing a team of miners, equipment operators, and support staff, and coordinating with the processing plant to ensure a steady supply of ore. You will also maintain production records, prepare daily reports, and participate in mine planning meetings. Experience with open-pit or underground mining methods, knowledge of mining regulations, and a commitment to safety are essential. The position requires working in a remote location with limited access to urban amenities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
  • Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills

Applications should include an updated CV, copies of relevant certificates, and contact details of three professional referees. Summit Partners offers a competitive remuneration package, medical cover, and opportunities for professional development. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
