About Silverline Industries
Silverline Industries is a textile and garment manufacturing company that produces workwear uniforms, hospital scrubs, hotel linens, and promotional apparel. The factory, located in Export Processing Zone Athi River, employs 600 machinists and support staff and operates forty-eight production lines. Founded in 2007, Silverline supplies uniforms to hospitals, hotels, security firms, and corporate clients across East Africa and also exports to the US under AGOA preferences. The company is WRAP-certified and complies with local and international labour standards.
What you will do:
You will manage the company's fleet of vehicles, including scheduling maintenance, tracking fuel consumption, managing driver assignments, and ensuring compliance with road safety regulations. Daily tasks include monitoring vehicle locations using GPS tracking systems, reviewing driver performance reports, coordinating vehicle repairs and servicing, and maintaining fleet records. The role involves preparing fleet performance reports, analysing costs per kilometre, and recommending strategies to reduce fuel consumption and maintenance costs. You will also manage vehicle insurance, road licences, and inspections. Experience with fleet management software, strong organisational skills, and a thorough understanding of transport regulations are essential.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
- Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
- Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
- Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
