Highland Partners is a horticulture export company that grows and exports roses, carnations, and summer flowers to auction houses and direct buyers in the Netherlands, UK, Germany, and the Middle East. The company operates four farms in Naivasha and Nakuru with a combined greenhouse area of eighty hectares. Founded in 2001, Highland Partners employs 2,200 staff and exports approximately 120 million stems annually. The company holds MPS-ABC, MPS-GAP, and Fairtrade certifications and operates a worker welfare programme that includes housing, medical care, and schooling for employees' children.

What you will do:

You will manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including overseeing food preparation, ensuring consistent quality standards, managing staff schedules, and controlling food costs. The role involves menu planning, working with suppliers to source ingredients, and ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times. You will handle customer complaints, monitor customer satisfaction, and implement improvements based on feedback. Staff management is a significant part of the role, including recruiting, training, and appraising kitchen and front-of-house staff. You will also be responsible for stock management, waste reduction, and ensuring that the restaurant meets its revenue targets. Experience in a high-volume dining environment and knowledge of food costing and menu engineering are important.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
