About Beacon Industries
Beacon Industries is a food and beverage manufacturing company that produces packaged fruit juices, bottled water, and dairy products for the Kenyan market and for export to six East African countries. The factory, located in Thika, employs over 1,100 workers and operates three production lines running twenty hours a day, six days a week. What you will do:
You will support the legal department in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, preparing legal opinions, and managing regulatory compliance matters. Daily tasks include conducting legal research, maintaining the company's contract management system, and ensuring that all contracts are executed in accordance with internal approval processes. The role also involves assisting with litigation matters, including preparing court documents, liaising with external advocates, and tracking case timelines. You will monitor changes in legislation and regulations that affect the company's operations and advise management on compliance requirements. Experience in corporate law, banking law, or employment law is valuable. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal colleagues.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
