Student Attachment – Commodities
Position: Student Attachment – Commodities – 1 Position
Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)
Reporting to: Senior Manager, Commodities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
-
Undertaking surveys and on-desk studies to inform formulation of policies and regulations to aid in establishment of the commodities markets in Kenya.
-
Undertaking assessments to inform necessary commodity trading infrastructure, including warehousing facilities to support the establishment of the commodities market.
-
Providing input for the development of draft legal, regulatory and institutional framework for the spot commodities market.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
A continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance or any relevant field.

Student Attachment – Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary
Position: Student Attachment – Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary – 2 Positions
Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)
Reporting to: Director, Legal Affairs and Corporation Secretary
The key responsibilities for the position are:
-
Assisting in organizing and participating in sensitization workshops and seminars for institutional investors and issuers on Corporate Governance and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG).
-
Updating different corporate governance databases for issuers’ announcements, change of directors, change of CSs and change of auditors among others.
-
Updating and analyzing the issuers’ monthly shareholding database.
-
Conduct periodic and/or one-off surveys on sustainability and emerging issues on corporate governance.
-
Assisting in conducting research and preparing legal briefs and opinions.
-
Assisting in maintaining proper records in respect to court files, contracts, and legal opinions.
-
Updating the register of judicial precedents on Capital markets.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
-
A continuing student pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Diploma in Law or a continuing student at Kenya School of Law or a continuing Certified Secretary (CS) student.

Student Attachment – Market Deepening
Position: Student Attachment – Market Deepening – 1 Position
Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)
Reporting to: Senior Manager Market Deepening
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Implementing programs of structured face to face engagement with issuers and intermediaries aimed at enhancing actual uptake of products and services.

Assisting in conducting demand assessments and product reviews and making recommendation on existing legal framework, policies, procedures and practices that will require review to enhance product uptake.

Assisting in developing business intelligence reports to inform proposals on improvement in product uptake.

Student Attachment – Market Supervision
Position: Student Attachment – Market Supervision – 1 Position
Attachment Period: 3 months (non-renewable)
Reporting to: Senior Manager Market Supervision
The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Support in compiling and updating databases in the department for ease of access and speedy data retrieval.

Collection of market news in reference to the licensed entities and listed companies.
-
Administration support in the department including preparation of letters and other correspondences.
-
Providing rapporteuring support for departmental events, including trainings and workshops.
