KRA Opens Applications for 2026 Industrial Attachment Programme (May – July Intake)

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has officially announced the opening of applications for its highly sought-after Industrial Attachment Programme for the 2026 intake. In line with the Government’s Youth Initiative to cultivate a skilled talent pool for the Kenyan labour market, the taxman is inviting ambitious and qualified students to apply for a three-month immersive experience running from May to July 2026.

This is a golden opportunity for university and college students to bridge the gap between academic theories and real-world professional practice within one of the country’s most critical state corporations.

Programme Overview

The KRA Industrial Attachment programme is designed to equip the youth with practical, hands-on experience in their specific areas of specialization. Selected candidates will be placed within various Support Services departments of the Authority, gaining invaluable exposure to the inner workings of public finance and administration.

Attachment Duration: 3 Months (May – July 2026)
Monthly Stipend: KShs. 7,000 (Subject to statutory deductions)

Who Should Apply?

KRA is looking for continuing students who meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Must be a Kenyan citizen below 35 years of age.

  • Education:

    • Undergraduate students in their 3rd, 4th, or final year of study from a recognized university.

    • Diploma students in their final year of study from a recognized college.

  • Documentation: Must possess a valid introduction letter from their university or college.

  • Availability: Must be available on a full-time basis for the entire three-month duration of the program.

Important Dates and Requirements

  • Application Deadline: Friday, 6th March 2026. All applications must be submitted online. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • Selection: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. KRA does not extend the attachment program beyond the stipulated period.

Note: The Authority does not charge any fee at any stage of the recruitment process. If selected, successful candidates must provide:

  • Proof of a valid Personal Accident Insurance Cover.

  • Copies of KRA PIN certificate, NHIF/SHIF, NSSF, ID card, and Bank Account details.

How to Apply: A Step-by-Step Guide

Interested candidates must apply online through the KRA e-recruitment portal. Follow these steps carefully to ensure your application is successful:

  1. Register: Visit https://erecruitment.kra.go.ke/login and click the ‘Register’ button. Complete the registration and confirm your email address via the link sent to your inbox.

  2. Log In: Return to the portal, key in your username and password, and click ‘Log in’ to access the ‘Applicant Cockpit’.

  3. Update Profile: Navigate to the ‘Candidate Profile’ tab and click ‘My Profile’. Fill in all mandatory fields and complete your profile by clicking “Overview and Release”. Ensure you check the box to finalize the profile setup.

  4. Apply for Vacancy: Click on the ‘Employment Opportunities’ tab. Click the ‘Start’ button under ‘Job Search’ to view all vacancies.

  5. Submit: Click on the job title, then hit the ‘Apply’ button. Follow the instructions, review the Data Privacy Statement, and click ‘Send Application Now’ to complete the process.
