How Teachers Can Enter

Teachers interested in the Teachers’ Insurance Awareness Prize must follow four steps.

Step 1: Execute an insurance awareness initiative in your school or community. This could be conducting a training session, publishing an article, or any other awareness activity.

Step 2: Ensure that Heirs Insurance Group is reflected in your initiative to make it easy for the organisers to track.

Step 3: Document your initiative by capturing your impact. This includes pictures, videos, lesson materials, and testimonials.

This initiative aligns with the company’s broader mission of promoting financial security and educational continuity for Nigerian families.

Why Students Should Apply

The Heirs Insurance Essay Championship offers several benefits for young students.

The N5 million scholarship for the winner provides substantial financial support for educational expenses. The grants to the winner’s school benefit not just the individual student but the entire school community.

Participating in the competition helps students develop critical thinking and writing skills. The essay topic encourages students to think about the role of insurance in society, building awareness of financial literacy from an early age.

Even students who do not win the top prizes benefit from the experience of researching, writing, and submitting a formal essay under deadline pressure.

Application Deadline and Submission

Applications close on July 8, 2026. Early submission is advised.

Students can submit their essays through the online portal provided by Heirs Insurance Group. The submission requires uploading the essay document in Word format, a passport photograph, and a form of identification.

Final Advice for Students

Students should start working on their essays early to allow time for research, drafting, and revision. The essay should address the topic directly and provide clear examples of how insurance contributes to safer and more secure societies.

Originality is critical. The strict prohibition against AI tools means students must write their essays entirely on their own. Teachers and parents can guide and review, but the words and ideas must belong to the student.

Students should follow all formatting instructions carefully. Essays that do not include the student’s name, school, and class on the document may be disqualified. Saving the document with the student’s full name as instructed helps organisers track submissions.

Final Advice for Teachers

Teachers interested in the Teachers’ Insurance Awareness Prize should plan their initiatives well before the deadline. Documenting impact with clear evidence such as photos, videos, and testimonials strengthens the entry.

The N1,000,000 cash prize and N500,000 school grant provide meaningful recognition for teachers who go above and beyond to promote insurance education. This is an opportunity for dedicated educators to be rewarded for their efforts.
