Introduction
The Aga Khan University’s Institute for Global Health and Development (IGHD) was established in the year 2020 to serve as a University-wide entity for providing a unique platform for facilitating strategic engagements and partnerships between AKU, University of Central Asia and the wider Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). IGHD aims to address global health and environmental challenges by creating a multi-disciplinary support system and infrastructure, whereby researchers across campuses and regions can collaborate and contribute.
The IGHD works across four thematic areas, including Sustainable Development Goals (including Broad Social Determinants of Health); Gender Equity and Empowerment; Climate Change, Urban Development, and Health, and; Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.
Job Roles / Responsibilities:
To work with the Research Specialist and Research Manager on a research project in order to investigate/establish the aims and objectives of the research project.
You will be responsible to:
- Individually conduct interviews and write up detailed notes on trainings, interviews and observation visits;
- facilitate meetings among the research team and junior research staff;
- visit different household in the communities to ensure the successful completion of trainings and data collection and perform quality checks;
- liaison with admin for logistic arrangements;
- raise wider community awareness as per the project guidelines;
- perform any other task as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements:
You must have:
- Bachelors or Intermediate with Diploma in LHV or Midwife;
- one year of experience will be preferred in the relevant field;
- sensitivity to cultural differences;
- ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively;
- excellent team player;
- good communication and interpersonal skills;
- resilience and ability to cope with work pressure;
- willing to work in communities;
- good knowledge of utilization of handheld devices for data collection;
- good community engagement skills.
