Redwood Associates is an insurance brokerage and risk advisory firm that serves corporate and individual clients across Kenya. Established in 2003, Redwood is licensed by the Insurance Regulatory Authority and places business with all licensed insurers in the market. The firm handles property, motor, marine, liability, and employee benefits insurance and manages claims on behalf of clients. Redwood Associates employs forty-five staff and serves over 2,000 corporate accounts. The company is a member of the Association of Kenya Insurance Brokers and has been voted among the top five brokers in the country for three consecutive years.

What you will do:

You will provide counselling services to individuals, couples, and families dealing with a range of issues including mental health, substance abuse, relationship difficulties, and trauma. Daily tasks include conducting intake assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating individual and group therapy sessions, and maintaining confidential client records. The role involves working closely with other professionals including psychiatrists, social workers, and community health workers to provide holistic care. You will also participate in case conferences, contribute to programme development, and stay current with evidence-based counselling approaches. Registration with the Kenya Counselling and Psychological Association and a valid practising licence are required. The position demands emotional resilience, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine commitment to helping others.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
