About Meadowbrook Services

Meadowbrook Services is a landscaping, grounds maintenance, and outdoor beautification company that serves residential estates, commercial properties, golf courses, and public parks. Founded in 2004, Meadowbrook employs 400 staff including horticulturists, irrigation technicians, and landscape designers. The company maintains over 2,000 acres of managed green spaces across Nairobi and its satellite towns. Meadowbrook operates five plant nurseries that supply trees, shrubs, and flowers for its projects. The company is a member of the Horticultural Crops Development Authority and the Kenya Landscapers Association.

What you will do:

In this role you will work directly with smallholder farmers, providing agronomic advice, training on best farming practices, and facilitating access to inputs and markets. Day-to-day activities include conducting farm visits, organising farmer training sessions, and collecting data on crop performance and yields. You will serve as the link between the company and its out-grower farmers, ensuring that production contracts are understood and followed. The role requires extensive travel within the assigned region, so a valid motorcycle licence and willingness to spend most of the working week in the field are essential. You will also help farmers with soil sampling, input selection, and post-harvest handling to reduce losses. Strong communication skills in both English and Kiswahili are important because you will be working with farmers who have varying levels of formal education.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
  • Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices

Applications should include an updated CV, copies of relevant certificates, and contact details of three professional referees. Meadowbrook Services offers a competitive remuneration package, medical cover, and opportunities for professional development. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
