Shield Group was founded in 2009 as a small security firm operating out of a single office along Mombasa Road. Over the past fifteen years the company has grown into one of East Africa's most recognised integrated security providers, covering manned guarding, CCTV surveillance, access control systems, and risk consulting for corporate clients. What you will do:
You will develop, implement, and monitor the company's occupational health and safety programmes to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. Daily tasks include conducting workplace safety inspections, investigating accidents and near-misses, preparing safety reports, and delivering safety training sessions. The role involves ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Work Injury Benefits Act, and other applicable regulations. You will also manage the company's fire safety programme, including fire drills, fire extinguisher inspections, and evacuation procedures. A diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, certification as a safety officer, and experience in a manufacturing or construction environment are required.
Requirements:
- Diploma in a relevant field from a recognised institution
- Minimum 1 year of working experience in a similar role
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must be a Kenyan citizen aged 21 years or above
