Heritage Brands is a fast-moving consumer goods company that manufactures personal care products, laundry detergents, and household cleaning solutions. The company was established in 2004 and operates a factory in Athi River that produces over fifty SKUs. Heritage Brands products are distributed through major supermarket chains and wholesale outlets in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The company employs 480 staff and invests approximately four percent of annual revenue in product research and development. Heritage Brands is a member of the Kenya Association of Manufacturers and has won the KBS Quality Award twice.

What you will do:

You will be responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the company's premises, personnel, and assets. Daily tasks include monitoring CCTV systems, controlling access to the premises, conducting security patrols, and responding to alarms and incidents. The role involves writing incident reports, coordinating with the police and emergency services when necessary, and enforcing the company's security policies and procedures. You will also supervise security guards, prepare duty rosters, and conduct training on security awareness and emergency response. Experience in the military, police, or private security industry is preferred. The position requires physical fitness, alertness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will work on a shift basis including nights and public holidays.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; a Master's degree is an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management capabilities
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to translate organisational goals into actionable plans
  • Professional certification in the relevant field (e.g. CPA, PMP, CIPS, or equivalent)
  • Experience managing budgets and reporting to senior leadership
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
