Pharmacist – Pharmacy
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to dispense drugs in the inpatient, outpatient and specialized pharmacies including:

Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Prepare, compound, and dispense medications, verifying prescriptions for dosage accuracy, indications, interactions, contraindications, allergies, and duplication.

Maintain and monitor pharmaceutical inventory, ensuring proper storage, security, and timely replenishment; recommend par level adjustments to prevent shortages.

Communicate with prescribers for prescription clarifications and document interventions.

Ensure accurate and timely medication dispensing and delivery, following the “right patient, right drug, right dose” principle.

Oversee controlled drug distribution and maintain strict documentation.

Conduct monthly floor stock inspections and manage near-expiry replacements.

Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment; ensure cleanliness and safety of the work area.

Provide drug information, poison management guidance, and patient counselling (including OPD).

Process e-pharmacy and outpatient prescriptions, including cash handling.

Perform extemporaneous compounding, bulk preparations, cytotoxic drug and TPN preparation (if assigned), with accurate record keeping.

Train and mentor pharmacy interns, trainees, and junior staff.

Support other pharmacy-related tasks and projects as required
Requirements:
You should have:

Doctor of Pharmacy from a recognized University.

Professional registration with Pharmacy Council of Pakistan.

One year traineeship in a medium / large hospital OR preferably 1 – 2 year’s experience as a pharmacist.

Work weekends, holidays, and rotational shifts when required.

Undertake additional related assignments as needed.

Familiarity with hospital pharmacy functioning.

Sound knowledge of Physiology, Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical.

Familiarity with locally available drugs, pharmaceutical and their indications.
-
Ability to communicate with medical professionals.
