Led by Visa’s first Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office coordinates high-impact, complex, company-wide projects related to data business strategy, critical investments, policy development, and marketplace execution. Working closely with Visa’s Chief Privacy Officer, the Technology organization, the wider data community, and the full set of Visa’s global lines of business, the Global Data Office is evolving Visa’s data-related work with momentum and enthusiasm. Driven by its commitment to trusted use of data, Visa is seeking enthusiastic leaders who are change-agents and passionate about the future of data around the world.

This position will be part of the Data Engineering Bengaluru COE team under the Global Data Office, responsible for leading a team of data engineers while serving as a hands‑on architectural leader. This role is responsible for designing scalable, reusable data solutions, setting engineering standards and best practices, and driving framework‑led development to improve efficiency, quality, and speed of delivery across the data ecosystem.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 


Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 11+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD

10+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a technical leadership or people management role.

Strong hands‑on experience designing and building large-scale data platforms using modern data engineering stacks.

Proven experience defining standards, frameworks, reusable components, and reference architectures.

Deep understanding of data modeling (star/snowflake, domain‑oriented models), ETL/ELT patterns, and data quality engineering.

Experience driving automation and efficiency through framework‑led or platform‑based approaches.

Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating in a COE or platform model supporting multiple product or analytics teams.

Familiarity with cloud-native data platforms, streaming architectures, and modern orchestration tools.

Exposure to data governance, metadata management, and observability frameworks.

Experience supporting BI, analytics, and AI/ML workloads at scale.
