Position Overview

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Manual Welder to join its production team. The role involves performing high-quality welding and fabrication work using manual welding techniques, ensuring all outputs meet required quality, safety, and production standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in welding, a strong understanding of fabrication processes, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Perform manual welding using ARC and MIG techniques.

Measure, assemble, and weld metal components with precision.

Inspect completed welds to ensure strength, quality, and compliance with standards.

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot welding equipment and tools.

Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) procedures at all times.

Repair and rework defective or damaged metal components.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Collaborate with supervisors and workshop teams to meet production targets.

Report material defects, equipment faults, and safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications & Requirments

Certificate or Trade Test in Welding, Fabrication, or a related field.

Minimum 2 – 5 years of hands-on experience as a Manual Welder, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Experience in motorcycle fabrication, structural steel, piping, or sheet metal work is an added advantage.

Valid welding certification (where applicable) is desirable.

Factory or workshop-based environment.

Requires standing for extended periods.

Exposure to heat, sparks, and welding fumes (appropriate PPE provided).

12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), rotating on a weekly basis.

Compensation Structure

  • Ungraded Artisan: KES 20,073.06 per month (exclusive of overtime).

  • Artisan Grade III: KES 25,139.17 per month (exclusive of overtime).

  • Artisan Grade II: KES 28,174.38 per month (exclusive of overtime).

  • Artisan Grade I: KES 34,217.60 per month (exclusive of overtime).
