Kenya Power has scheduled power interruptions for Friday, May 22, 2026, affecting parts of Nairobi, North Rift, and Mt. Kenya regions.
In Nairobi, areas along Matumbatu Road in Upper Hill will be affected from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. These include Matumbato Flats, Canaan Apartments, KWFT, Regent Valuers, and adjacent customers.
In the North Rift region, parts of Uasin Gishu County including Ndupeneti, Ngeria Water, and Ngara Falls will experience an outage from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Affected areas are Ngocheck, Kampnyamisa, Lelboinet, Nigeria Girls, Koros Secondary School, Tegut, Kapngetuny, Ndupeneti, Belkenya, and adjacent customers.
Still in North Rift, parts of Trans Nzoia County including Aturukan and Kibot Primary will be out from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Affected customers include Aturukan Hotel, Mt. Elgon Dairies Sinendet Centre, Kibomet Primary School, Bishop Yego, Sirwo Resort, Mwaita Primary School, Tuigoin Centre, Kiptenden, Kuriot, Parkera, Murgoiyo, and adjacent customers.
In the Mt. Kenya region, parts of Nyeri County including Gatumbiro and Kirurumi will be affected from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Affected areas are Gatumbiro Market, Huhoini Market, Kiahiti, TEAWASCO, Gaithuri, Kirurumi Dispensary, Gathathini School, and adjacent customers.
Parts of Embu County including Muthaari, Itabua, and NTSA will experience an outage from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Affected areas include Nthokis, Mugoya Police, Tenri Hospital, NCPB, Prisons, Jumbo Nut, Embu NTSA, and adjacent customers.
Kenya Power advises customers to unplug appliances and treat all lines as live during the outage. Power may be restored earlier than scheduled.
