1,000 Internship Vacancies Open at Public Service Commission (PSC)

The Public Service Commission (PSC), through the Ministry of Education, State Department for Basic Education, has declared 1,000 internship vacancies under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 5.

Successful candidates will be appointed and deployed to schools at Sub-county level. The interns will gain practical skills and knowledge while supporting virtual learning and other related digital platforms.

Requirements for Appointment

For appointment to the internship position, a candidate must:

  • Have graduated not earlier than 2022.
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education with specialization in Information Communication Technology (ICT), a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, a Diploma in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution.
  • Be knowledgeable in networking and infrastructure, applications development, information security and project management.
  • Have the ability to integrate ICT with Education in e-Learning and content development.
  • Have the requisite skills to carry out research and innovation to support the Digital Literacy Programme.
  • Be willing to be deployed to any Sub-county Education office on a full-time basis.
  • Have not benefited from a similar programme.

Internship Duties and Responsibilities

The interns will be responsible for duties including:

  1. Supporting e-Learning and content development in line with schemes of work.
  2. Providing class support and training Primary School teachers in the use of digital literacy devices.
  3. Supporting implementation of the Digital Learning Programme.
  4. Carrying out innovations to enable schools to improve the use of digital learning.
  5. Providing support in the safe, secure and ethical use of technology in learning.
  6. Assisting teachers in integrating ICT into teaching, learning and assessment.
  7. Supporting staff with the development and production of key school policies and procedures.
  8. Providing first-line support and maintenance of ICT services in schools.

Duration of Internship

12 months, non-renewable.

Stipend

Interns will be paid a stipend by the State Department at a rate determined by the Government.

Certificate

Successful interns will be awarded a certificate by the State Department for Basic Education upon completion of the Internship Programme.
