About Pacific Trust
Pacific Trust is a microfinance institution that provides savings, credit, and micro-insurance products to low-income entrepreneurs, women's groups, and smallholder farmers in rural and peri-urban Kenya. Licensed by the Central Bank of Kenya, Pacific Trust was founded in 2005 and currently serves over 85,000 active borrowers through a network of eighteen branches and forty-seven agent outlets. The institution's loan portfolio stands at KES 4.2 billion with a non-performing loan ratio below three percent. Pacific Trust also offers agricultural lending tied to crop cycles and partners with ten insurance companies to provide weather-indexed crop insurance.
What you will do:
You will work with vulnerable children and families, conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing support to ensure the safety and well-being of children at risk. Daily tasks include conducting home visits, interviewing children and family members, preparing court reports, and coordinating with government agencies, NGOs, and community-based organisations. The role involves managing a caseload of children and families, monitoring progress, and making recommendations for interventions such as family preservation, foster care placement, or reunification. Strong knowledge of the Children Act, child protection policies, and community-based child protection mechanisms is essential. The position requires extensive travel within the assigned area and the ability to work with sensitive and sometimes distressing cases.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a similar position
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Proficiency in relevant industry software and tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices
