Reporting to the section’s chief, and supervised by the Human Rights Policy Specialist, the Laws and Data Programme Management Specialist will work in close collaboration with the Legal Reform Policy Specialist to ensure successful fulfillment of UN Women’s responsibilities as cocustodian of SDG Indicator 5.1.1, and the implementation of the human rights and non-discrimination team’s work on eliminating discriminatory laws and promoting adherence to international standards and rule of law. Patrol Boat Operator at Amentum Patrol Boat Operator at Amentum Job ResponsibilitiesThe Patrol Boat Operator is responsible for the safe operation and coordination of patrol boat activities to ensure the safety and security of watercraft and personnel in the designated area. This role requires adherence to Navy standards and instructions and the ability to conduct rescue operations when necessary. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Patrol and Surveillance:Operating patrol boats to visually verify that all craft in the area are operational and accounted for.Conducting regular patrols to monitor the number of persons aboard watercraft and ensure all individuals are accounted for.Maintaining a visual check of watercraft in the designated area to detect any anomalies, safety issues, or unauthorized activity.Documentation and Logging:Recording and logging all verifications of craft operations, personnel counts, and incidents during patrols in accordance with NAVSUPPFACDGINST 3130.3 series.Preparing accurate reports of patrol boat activities, including any observations, incidents, or rescue operations.Emergency and Rescue Operations: Initiating rescue operations promptly and efficiently in the event of distress or emergency, following Navy protocols and safety standards.Coordinating with other rescue and support teams during emergencies to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel involved.Equipment Maintenance and Safety:Performing routine inspections and maintenance of patrol boat equipment to ensure it is always operational and ready for deployment.Adhering to all safety protocols and operational procedures while operating patrol boats and conducting assigned tasks.Minimum RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year of experience operating small boats or watercraft in a patrol, security, or rescue capacity. Knowledge of safe boat handling, navigation techniques, and rescue operations.Familiarity with Navy maritime standards and procedures, including NAVSUPPFACDGINST 3130.3 series or equivalent.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate logs and records of operational activities.Must possess the physical fitness required to manage emergency or rescue operations on the water.Ability to successfully pass contract medical, swimming, and physical fitness requirements and maintain compliance for the duration of deployment. Preferred QualificationsPrior experience in an austere OCONUS (Outside the Continental United States) environment with a multi-national workforce.Valid country driver's license and boating license/certification.Certification or training in rescue operations, watercraft safety, or maritime navigation.Familiarity with Navy or Department of Defense maritime security operations and protocols.Additional skills in equipment maintenance and troubleshooting for small watercraft.
