Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) is a Department dedicated to develop a center of excellence for high quality and high impact clinical trials both nationally & internationally. The Department promotes AKU’s vision by providing leadership, consultation, and facilitation in different phases of clinical trials in compliance with the International Standards and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.

This is a grant-funded contractual position.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

  • ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures and JCIA standards

  • maintain assigned work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

  • accurately fill drug/medication cassettes

  • ensure timely delivery of medications to the right location and various points of dispensing, including scanning of documents and assisting pharmacists during QC audits

  • handle large and heavy drug cartons and place them on shelves

  • ensure inventory management, including receipt of shipments, placement of stock, lot and expiry control, and FIFO (first-in, first-out) arrangement

  • generate PR/MSR (purchase requisition/material stock requisition) for consumables and maintain adequate supplies

  • assist pharmacists during audits and related activities in maintaining pharmacy records

  • assist pharmacists in training new employees.

Requirements

You should have:

  • intermediate; graduate qualification will be preferred; a dispenser diploma will be an added advantage

  • at least one year of experience working in a hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, or clinical setting

  • good knowledge of basic pharmacy operations

  • knowledge of key medications, medical supplies, and dosage forms

  • ability to read labels, drug names, and differentiate between similar medicines

  • ability to work on computers with skills in MS Office and institutional software (SAHL and PeopleSoft)

  • fluency in Urdu and the ability to read and write basic English.
